On July 17, 2021, it will have been 200 years since a ceremony exchanging flags took place in Pensacola, officially transferring the territory of La Florida from Spain to the United States. The West Florida Genealogical Society has participated by providing researchers for the 1821 Sampler project, in which we have tried to identify every individual who would have been in the Pensacola area for the exchange of flags.
